We couldn’t have dreamed better ... the place in itself, room, roof top with pool, location ... and a very special mention to the host team ... so kind and with incredible hospitality. We were with our baby and they took good care of him. We will be back I'm sure! And we would love to meet this wonderful team again, which makes a great little breakfast besides! Thank you thank you thank you ... hoping to meet again soon.
[The team at Dar Basyma] are the most wonderful people ... Mokhtar will look after you like you are his family ... they are all so wonderful!

We stayed at this riad on our very last night of our trip. It was our ABSOLUTE favorite of all the places we stayed in while traveling Morocco. It is BEAUTIFUL ... perfectly styled. It is clean. The first bathroom in Morocco that felt like an American bathroom. There were extra blankets which existed no where else. They have a fantastic system for bags to be delivered to the riad or to the vehicle. Stay here. You will love it!

We want to thank you for making our trip to Morocco so enjoyable. We consider our time in Marrakech to be one of our top three experiences in our 50 years of shared international travel. The help you and Mokhtar provided in planning the trip gave us confidence that the trip would go well—and it did!
From the moment we were greeted at the airport to the last farewell, [the staff at Dar Basyma] made every day a seamless adventure of discovery and tranquility. Dar Basyma was exactly as the website indicated—comfortable, quiet, well-appointed, and a delight to return to at the end of each day.
Our experience in Morocco has motivated us to urge a number of friends and family members to plan their own trips. As we did with your help, we hope they will experience the rich intersection of African, Silk Road, Moroccan, French colonial, progressive Islamic culture. Thank you!

"Dar Basyma was the highlight of our trip! This riad is beautifully decorated; a perfect getaway. We spent one night in this wonderful gem
and it couldn’t have felt more like home. We love it so much."

“Dar Basyma is a true gem. A real hidden treasure!”

"My friends and I spent a week in Morrocco with Dar Basyma as our home base. The riad was just as beautiful as the photos. Located a short distance from the airport, the location was ideal after a long trip from the states. As you walk through the gate and meander through the narrow streets to Dar Basyma's front door, you step into the oasis of the riad.
We had an absolutely amazing experience in Morocco—
it was too short. We can’t wait to come back and we will be telling all of our friends about our trip! And your riad is absolutely incredible! —Fahad + Rachel, USA
"The daily breakfasts were wonderful and the dinners were some of the best meals we ate during our time in Morocco."
The homeowner was able to assist us in booking our excursions [through Moroccan Sahara Tours]. We enjoyed a day trip to the beach with a lunch of fresh grilled sardines and a three-day excursion from Marrakesh, through the high Atlas Mountains, through ancient ruins and finally ending at the desert for our camel trek and overnight stay in a traditional Berber tent. (The meal served was the best lemon chicken tagine ever!) Returning to the riad after the desert trip was ideal. Soaking in the roof top pool and relaxing under the stars, I highly recommend this place. Looking forward to our next stay. Thanks Jane!

"We could write volumes on our four-week stay at Dar Basyma, as we left Marrakech with volumes of knowledge. The location, in the touristy Medina, feels far removed from the hubbub of the Jmaa el Fnaa. In this northern part of the Medina one feels like one is in the midst of real people living a busy Medina life. The people are very welcoming to the point of overwhelming with their generosity ... a refreshing change from our urban Canadian life in a suburb.
Dar Basyma is literally an oasis
in a minefield of chaos in the 900-year-old mud-walled city called the Medina.
You can 'escape' on the rooftop by the plunge pool where the sounds of the streets are muted, gaze at the stars at night. Mokhtar and his team went out of their way to accommodate us with true Middle Eastern family-style generosity. Meeting them and getting to see the world through their eyes was a trip highlight for our family. We agree with the other review that said you should eat meals at the riad. We went to some very fancy places in Morocco, but none outdid the meals prepared by Dar Basyma's wonderful staff. This is a great destination for those keen on getting close proximity exposure to Moroccan Medina life whilst still enjoying the comforts of home, easy, responsive arrangements pre-arrival with Jane, an easy arrival and departure in Marrakech and as little or as much hubbub as you like."
